FAQS & POLICIES

We want your experience with us to be the best it can be! To help that, we want you to know what to expect when visiting our studio and working with our instructors.
 Popular FAQs
You've asked and we have answers!
  • Who can do pole?

This question is easy - everyone and anyone! People of all different genders, ages, athletic backgrounds, experience and abilities have walked through our doors. If you are a woman, man, non-binary, trans, etc. - we welcome you here. If you are a mother, a nurse, a lawyer, a waste management person, a sex worker, etc. - you are welcome here. If you have a heart pumping in your chest, you can pole with us!

  • What do I need for classes?

Most classes will require shorts and bare feet or leggings and pole stilettos, but each class's attire is unique to that class's focus. Please visit the Classes page for more details.

Be sure to bring water (we have water at the studio for sale as well) and it is recommended that you eat a snack before poling as our activites can be rigorous and exhausting.

Please come 10 minutes before your first class to sign our waiver and get settled.

  • I have no upper body strength, can I still do pole?

Absolutely!  No one goes into a gym and starts squatting 300 lbs. Pole is the same way - a journey. You must be patient with your body and give your "pole muscles" time to strengthen and grow. Consistency will make you strong - but you certainly do not have to walk in our doors  that way.

  • I'm a curvy person, can I still pole?

100% YES. Don't let a pant size or a number on a scale scare you away from trying something you might fall in love with. Your body is perfect - if your body works, you can pole. There's no body shaming in our home.

  • How do packages work?

Currently, packages are month to month cycles lasting 30 days (this excludes the 10 day Mini Package). Starting from your date of purchase,  the 30 day cycle begins. Classes do not roll over month to month, so unused classes expire after 30 days.

Extentions are only given in emergencies or at the discretion of Iron X's pole mamas.

Please note that our Aerial Classes are not currently included in our packages or drop-in credits.

  • Can I get a refund for my class or package?

We do not provide refunds for classes or packages, except due to an emergency, injury (student will need to provide proper documentation) or at the owners' discretion.

  • Can I just come to the studio or do I have to sign up online?

We STRONGLY encourage you to sign up online before classes. We have limited space in each class and due to some classes popularity, we cannot guarentee you a pole when you arrive if you have not signed up.  We never want to turn anyone away, but please understand that when extra bodies are in a class, this takes away from everyone's individual time on the pole - so we cannot allow walk in's to join every class.

  • I've taken a Pole Kittens class - now what?

Pole Kittens is not a one time deal if you intend to grow with us. Students should continue coming to Pole Kittens and with instructor consent, they may begin attending Iron Tricks Beginners. However, students who complete a single Pole Kittens class are welcome to  simulataneously attend any Level 1,  Level 2 and All Level classes, which includes many of our dance classes, our fitness classes, etc.

  • How long does it take to progress from beginner classes?

We get this question often and the truth is,  it isn't a question we can answer because it depends on many different factors. We can give you a gauge that most students move into upper level classes within ~2 months, but this is not unniversal. While your starting fitness abilities can determine how hard or easy some parts of pole will be, it often comes down to commitment.  The student who comes to Pole Kittens weekly and attends other pole classes is going to move up sooner than a student that comes to Pole Kittens once or twice a month. Pole is a journey and to be safe, learn effectively and ensure our students are walking out of classes with great experiences, pole takes time. Be patient, dedicate, and the results will come.

  • I have a background in pole - do I need to start in Pole Kittens?

We want you to to get the best experience for your money here! That being said, we also want to be sure every student is safe and prepared for our lessons. If you feel you are overqualified for our beginner level classes, please contact us letting us know your experience and we can assess before classes to place you in your appropriate level.

  • Can minors join Iron X Fitness?

Minors are welcome at Iron X Fitness, but MUST have a parent or guardian attend with them to sign the required waiver before their first class and to also provide a Driver's License for records. Parents/guardians do not have to join a class, but are required to stay on the premesis with minors.

Due to their sexual nature, dance classes are 18+ age appropriate and minors may not attend any of these classes.

Please note, while we do our very best to take care of every pole student, we cannot claim responsibility for anyone's child while on Iron X Fitness property. Pole fitness comes with the inherent risk of injury, as well as potential exposure to "adult" material, such as explicit music.

  • Will I have to share a pole?

For most tricks classes, students will share poles. We do our best to make the most of your time with us, but some classes require sharing to ensure everyone gets their fill of classes. Keep in mind, our classes are challenging, so having breaks in between tricks can be nice!

Iron X Policies

Please read these thoroughly. Students who sign our waiver when first joining Iron X Fitness are also consenting to abiding by the following policies.
New Clients
  • Pole sisters must be 18 or older to join Iron X Fitness. Students age 14 to 17 may join Iron X Fitness with permission of a parent or guardian. Parent/Guardian must come into the facility and sign the Iron X waiver, and also show appropriate ID as proof of guardianship (Driver's ID is sufficient for parents). Minors may not take dance classes due to their adult nature.
  • All pole students must sign a waiver and short paperwork before getting on a pole. Please come to classes 10 minutes early to sign waivers so that class will not be delayed.
  • Be sure to read class descriptions for recommended attire, as this can change for each class.
  • Please avoid any lotions or oils the day of (and the day before if possible) your scheduled pole class. This will get on the poles, making them slippery and making your experience more challenging.
  • Please note that some classes students will share poles. We do our best to make the most of your time with us, but some classes require sharing to ensure everyone gets their fill of classes. This is primarily for tricks classes, not dance classes. Keep in mind, our classes are challenging, so having breaks in between tricks can be nice!
Iron X Pole Etiquette
  • Iron X Fitness is founded on mutual respect for one another. Rudeness, disrespect and pettiness will never be tolerated inside our doors. Students who disrespect another student will only receive one warning in their time with us before being asked to leave. Iron X Fitness has ZERO tolerance for disrespect. No refunds are given to those who are permanently dismissed from class for disrespect.
  • Please, do not bring children into the studio without instructor's permission for special circumstances. Iron X Fitness hold showcases for families to come and see what we do. Outside of this, this an adult space only. Children that are allowed in the space should remain in the lobby at all times.
  • You may bring your cell phone into the dance space, however:
    • Phone calls and texting should wait until after classes, except in emergencies, for those who are on call or instructor approved circumstances.
    • No videos or pictures should be taken during class without instructor approval. This can slow the flow of class. Students are all given a time at the end of class for as many videos and pictures as you want!
    • Absolute no filming of the instructor is allowed of a lesson during a class. Instructors may perform a trick or combo at the end of class for filming, but instruction will not be provided during filming.
    • Please ask permission for any and all other students who are captured in your pictures and videos before sharing on social media or with anyone else. While pole has made its mark as a positive activity, please understand that some students cannot share their pole activities without negative repercussions.
    • Students who do not abide by the cell phone rules will be asked to keep their phone in a locker until the end of class.
  • Do not invert or attempt to invert unless instructed by an instructor WITH a spotter/crash mat except in advanced classes where invert abilities have been authorized. Your safety is our priority. Even if you feel confident in your invert abilities, in these classes you will be learning tricks that may challenge you and spotters/crash mats are important for this reason. Pole sisters who invert without authorization after verbal warnings will be asked to sit out from class at the instructor’s discretion.
  • Advanced students who are at an inverting level are kindly asked to refrain from inverting in beginner level classes (Level 0.5 & Level 1). This can be intimidating for new and baby polers and we want everyone to feel comfortable. If you are an advanced student in classes 1.5 or higher, or any All Level classes, you may invert during your free poling time or with instructor approval.
  • Please pay attention during class and do not practice other moves than what we are focusing on in the class. We know many of your do not have poles at home and it is exciting to practice, however there is always time set aside for this at the end of class to practice what we have learned or to work on other tricks inside your skill level.
  • Please do not teach other students. We understand there are different levels of pole sisters in every class and that you may want to help, but it is important for the only teaching voice to be the instructor. This is for other students' safety, your safety and the keep Iron X a safe environment.
Attendance, Cancellations and Tardiness
  • Students should arrive on time for classes. If you are going to be late, please let an instructor know. Warm ups are very important to a safe and successful class therefore we ask students to be timely and ready for classes. Due to rush hour traffic, students attending the 5:30 pm classes will have more leniency.
  • Cancellations should be done by the student no later than 5 hours before classes otherwise this will count as a “Late Cancel” and will count towards a class. Please understand that late cancels prevent us from filling that spot easily and can shrink class sizes. If it is an emergency situation, please let an instructor know what happened to handle your scheduling accordingly.
    • Unlimited Members who Late Cancel or no show - the studio reserves the right to charge a $5 fee to the student's account.
  • No shows will not be returned a class credit for any reason other than an emergency in which the studio is made aware of the situation. Any no shows will forfeit their class credit.
  • Students who late cancel or no show will receive a strike against her/his account. A student who late cancels or no shows more than 3 times will have her/his account locked from signing up for more classes. At this point, you will need to contact Iron x Fitness to unlock your account.

Unused classes do not roll over into the following cycle. No refunds or class credits are given after purchase.
